WEEKENDS IN THE CITY: MAPLE BACON AND LAVENDAR SOAP

Weekends in Boston during the Summer is all about exploring and I started my first weekend of Summer in Somerville at Union Square Donuts, where I tried the Maple Bacon Donut! Now before you try to hurt your head and try to wrap yourself around the idea of what that might taste like let me tell you. It taste delicious!! The perfect mix of salt and sweet. If you live in Boston (or visiting), then you should try to make it out to Union Square. They have everything from Vanilla Bean to Sea Salted Bourbon Caramel! You can also found them at SoWa Market on Sundays from 10am - 4pm!

Next stop was MIT to check out the Frank O. Gehry design on Building 32 in Kendall Square.

We happened to be walking along Massachusetts Ave near Central and spotted Naco Taco. We did not get a chance to eat there, but who does not love a good summer patio. This place will definitely be on my list for the summer of places I should eat.

We walked up Massachusetts Ave and made our way to Modica Way to find a few artists working on their designs. I do not know how they stand it for so long...after awhile all the fumes were starting to give me a headache, but it made for a good picture.

We hopped on the 1 Bus and got off at Newbury Street, and walked to Beacon Hill. We passed the beautiful houses on Commonwealth Ave and caught the bird on the bird bath. I have heard about Follain and I wanted to stop by and see what was the fascination with the store.  As Follain states on their website, they are a store that focuses on healthy and all natural products. I cannot wait to run out of soap so I can stock up on Lavender soap! Plus the design of the store itself makes it feel like you just stepped into a spa (or a fancy hotel bathroom) which was probably what they were going for in the design.
