A Living Room Is For Living

It has been a year since I have been in my space. I enjoy having a place I can call my own (sort of) and was super excited to decorate once I knew what my place was going to look like, but I was not sure where to start. I had an idea in mind, but you are limited sometimes depending on where you live when renting. I would love to paint my walls, but the white walls actually work in my case. My best advice when it comes to the living room is to start with a staple item.  I really wanted this beautiful shag rug (which I got of Joss & Main) and it was a splurge but worth it because it really helped me figure out the other staple pieces in the living room.

Be creative! The marble tray that you see on the coffee table is actually a cutting board (way cheaper then looking for an actual marble tray) and the flowers are faux, which some may frown upon, but I am made sure to pick ones that looked as close to the real thing as possible. H&M has great kick-knacks for the home and a few of my living room finds are from there including the basket that my lovely (new!) cactus is living in now.

    1. I actually ordered it on Amazon.com! I just looked up "marble cutting board" and got this link: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0036AQ0IC?keywords=marble%20cutting%20board&qid=1447363664&ref_=sr_1_1&s=kitchen&sr=1-1

      Hope that helps!
